Who Eli is on this channel
Eli pushes back. He has read enough to know the easy answers do not work. He has sat through enough sermons to spot the place where the preacher hurries past the hard line.
He is not hostile to faith. He is hostile to the cheap version of faith. The version that papers over real cracks and tells you to stop asking. He came to stay. He just will not pretend.
What he sounds like
Steady. A little dry. He asks the second question. The one every honest believer thinks but does not say out loud at church. He says it out loud so the room can finally breathe.
He keeps the channel honest. When James glides, Eli plants a foot. When Miriam asks the open question, Eli asks the closing one.
