Jesus didn't tidy the temple. He jammed the machine that sold people their way back to God.

The Bible Uses Four Words for Hell, English Uses One

One English word, "hell", quietly fused four very different biblical words into a single burning pit. Pull them apart, and the fire everyone pictures turns out to be made by people over hundreds of years, not handed down by Jesus.

For five thousand years, people have fought over one hill because they believed God lived there. Then Jesus sat down at a well, looked at a tired stranger, and took the whole map away.

They had the city, the money, the emperors, and the stone. They built churches on every hill and left the one spot everyone expected bare. The only man who tried to rebuild it had walked away from Jesus.
